The Sørlandsbane is the railway line, which runs along the Norwegian south coast from Stavanger to Oslo and whose construction lasted 66 years. We take the train to Kristiansand, the first part of which runs along the sea and fjords. Then the track goes more inland through higher mountain ridges. Kilometers of tunnels largely determine the image of this spectacular train journey, which is a continuous alternation of peaks and valleys of the Norwegian landscape.

This line was built in the 19th century along the Allier River by the Massif Central. More than 100 tunnels and viaducts were constructed in this wild and poorly accessible area. This makes this train journey from Nimes to Langeac a good way to discover this part of France.
