According to the U3000 newsletter, the episode aired only once – instead of repeats, MTV showed a “best of” with almost all family scenes cut.

Terrorism

Season 1

The theme is terrorism – with a chronology of the RAF from 1967 onwards – and, as its counterpart, peace, illustrated by Immanuel Kant’s “Perpetual Peace”. Guests are Bärbel Schäfer, Heidi Hoppe, Cindy & Bert, Mambo Kurt and H.M.S.; the contestant family is the Radloff family. “Genome of the Week”: Angela Merkel.

The seventh episode is about Africa, including a text on the significance of Leon Trotsky for today’s Africa. The contestant family is the German-African Sarr family from Berlin-Kreuzberg, who want to build an artists’ village in Senegal to foster cultural exchange between Europe and Africa. Guests are Ireen Sheer, Donots, Hanayo, Claude-Oliver Rudolph and H.M.S. “Genome of the Week”: Jürgen Möllemann.

Africa

The final episode is about the end of the revolution and draws on Richard Wagner’s 1849 essay “Die Revolution”. Guests are Peter Kern, Schorsch Kamerun, Fünf Sterne Deluxe, Discotizer, Sylvesterboy and Stefan Meyer. “Genome of the Week”: Johannes Rau. Instead of a horoscope, the show congratulates viewers on having made it – and explains how they can no longer donate.

The End of the Revolution

In the eight-part program U3000 (2000), broadcasted by the music station MTV, Schlingensief assumes the role of the presenter who hates himself for his self-love disguised as telegenic selflessness. Common broadcasting formats are all being ridiculed without exception. A socially needy family can qualify for participation by winning the always same outside bet, in order to make their private fate public in front of a running camera and in the presence of passengers in the moving subway. Childlike rounds of games give them the opportunity to improve social welfare, critically watched by a jury made up of the handicapped actors from Schlingensief's ensemble. Aged show stars like Maria and Margot Hellwig, Christian Anders or Roberto Blanco are used in a talk-show wagon as cheap fodder and  are forced to show compassion with such victims of the market economy. The bands of the MTV generation (Atari Teenage Riot, Surrogat, Söhne Mannheims and others) play in the dance wagon.
